Alexander Vinnik, prosecuted for 14 offences related to the ransomware «Locky»

Me Frédéric Bélot defended the Russian national Alexander Vinnik, prosecuted for 14 offences related to the ransomware «Locky» and the activity of the cryptocurrency trading platform (in particular of bitcoins) BTC-E. Mr. Vinnik, who is the subject of legal proceedings by the US, French and Russian authorities, was arrested and imprisoned in Greece in July 2017 following a US arrest warrant. He was extradited to France in January 2020 following a European arrest warrant and has been in pre-trial detention since then. Frédéric Bélot has been defending Mr. Vinnik since the end of June 2020. He was one of his lawyers during the trial held before the Paris Criminal Court from October 19 to 23, 2020.
