Processing of personal data by health professionals

January 8, 2021

The term “processing” does not have the same meaning in the medical field as it does in personal data regulations, yet healthcare professionals are required to process personal data, particularly sensitive health data.

To all those who may process health data, on their own behalf or on behalf of third parties, I invite you to read, or at least to review, your obligations when processing personal data, not in the medical sense of this sometimes inappropriate term, but in the sense of the regulation on personal data, particularly with regard to the 22 sanctions pronounced because of failure on the part of health professionals, and especially the 2 sanctions pronounced by the CNIL in December 2020 against two private doctors.
