The major French ham and charcuterie group Cooperl Arc Atlantique, represented by lawyer Frédéric Bélot, has seen its penalty for price fixing significantly reduced on appeal compared to that imposed by the Competition Authority four years ago, on 16 July 2020, for offences committed between 2010 and 2013.
The Cooperl Arc Atlantique cooperative, France’s leading pork producer, which had been the most heavily penalised by the Competition Authority (€35.5 million), was fined €13 million on appeal.
We take note of this decision, but have decided to appeal to the Court of Cassation.
