Frédéric Bélot defended the companies Coop Saveurs and Coop Services, civil parties, in the so-called «Péronne Cup» trial, which was held before the Caen Criminal Court from October 3 to 8, 2019.
In this case, a former employee of these two companies, was prosecuted for embezzling nearly four million euros in particular to organize a youth football tournament. This former employee took advantage of his position as a management controller at « MaxiViandes », now denominated « Coop Services », to divert money and pay various suppliers, particularly in the context of the organization of this football tournament called «Péronne Cup», named after the president of the Thaon Community Amateur Football Club (Calvados).
The companies Coop Saveurs and Coop Services had, in order to obtain the return of the misappropriated sums, also summoned to appear about thirty natural and legal persons, having received the said amounts misappropriated by this former financial controller. In the first instance, the Caen Correctional Court sentenced this former employee to 18 months in prison, as well as several other individuals and legal entities. Several appeals have been filed against this conviction.
